Who doesn’t love a party? I personally love pulling together a large crowd of friends, serving fabulous food, and moving in and out of their conversations and laughter while they are doing something really fun.
But is just another event. It probably doesn’t have life lasting effects on anyone. We’re all just waiting for the next time we can get together.
The Sparrow’s Nest is gearing up for its next big event. We are proud to be stretching ourselves to host the 1st annual Sparrow Scramble at the Mid Rivers Golf Links on October 1, 2011 at 8 a.m. It’s just $75 per player with out a shirt if you pay before September 10. We hope this will be another hugely successful fundraiser to move us that much closer to getting the house, hiring the staff, and opening by next July in St. Charles County. We’ve also added the Sparrow’s Club, an elite group of participants who will be raising additional funds for us through individual fundraising efforts. We will be hosting a free dinner for them on Sunday August 21 at 5:30 p.m at Sherlocks in Cottleville.
But it is just another fundraising event. It is just one more fundraising event that will not really have any lasting effects on most of us. But I really hope you can keep in mind that even though it is just another event all of our fundraising efforts will have a direct long lasting effect on the young girls we plan to help in the next year. It may seem like relaxing day on the green but the dollars raised will help save a baby’s life.
We are looking forward to spending a fun day playing golf, hanging out with friends, and maybe making a few memories. But more importantly we really appreciate how your participation and sponsorships will provide more funding to help get The Sparrow’s Nest off the ground and flying. Then we can really get to the task at hand.
